Santiago de Com·po·stel·a /sæntiˌɑːɡəʊ də kɒmpɒˈstelə $ -də kɑːmpə-/ a city in northwest Spain, where the body of St James, one of Jesus Christ's disciples, is supposed to be buried. It is famous as a place which pilgrims (=people making a religious journey) have visited for hundreds of years.
